Larry Newman – Delta Air Lines/ALPA

Larry is currently an MD88 Captain for Delta Air Lines where he served as pilot in command for the last 10 years.  He was institutionalized in Colorado at the US Air Force Academy where he graduated in 1979.  After graduation he served as a wingman, flight lead and instructor pilot in OV10’s and F16’s. 

Larry became a safety volunteer for ALPA in 1993 and has been the Chairman of the ALPA Air Traffic Services Group since 2001.  He was the principle ALPA rep. for LAHSO, SOIA, CPDLC and is currently involved in the development of RPAT. 

Larry has participated in numerous RTCA Special Committees and has represented pilot members at IACO.  He’s is also very proud to be a member of the leading airline pilot union in the world.
