Vince Polk

NATCA Safety Committee Chairman

Vince began his career with the FAA in 1989.  He started in Columbus, Georgia, a level 3 Radar Approach Control.  During this time he served as Local Representative and National Automated Surface Observation System (ASOS) Rep for NATCA as well as received all available Labor Relations training. 

In 1995, he transferred to Atlanta TRACON/Tower where he checked out in the least time ever accomplished by a developmental from a level 3 approach control.  He became involved in the ATL NATCA Local during training as communications officer, group representative, Vice President and eventually President of the ATL/A80 local for two consecutive terms. 

He participated on the Standard Terminal Approach Radar System (STARS) work group as well as the Southern Region Labor Relations Team.  He is now a controller at the Hartsfield/Jackson International Air Traffic Control Tower and work 6 day work weeks because of short staffing. 

Vince has three children and is married to his High School sweetheart.  His oldest daughter 13, son 10 and the youngest at 3 1/2 .

Vince currently serves as the Chairman of the NATCA National Safety Committee
